 I play just about every kind of game on the market, with the exceptions of sports games and simulators. Nothing is more annoying that losing a game simply because you forgot to lower your landing gear in the landing sequence. Sports games, on the other hand, are redundant. why play nfl2k with a group of guys when you can go out and play the real thing?
Enough of my rant. I am currently trying to play Star Wars- Rogue Squadron. Its a fun game, but very difficult. When I get fustrated with that, I play Diablo 2 open. Its a lot of fun, and unlike the realms, I dont have to deal with annoying L337 players that think I am a hinderence to their quest for expierince. I admit, there are player killers out on the open realms, as well as cheaters, but the overall community is much better. I did play Counter Strike, was quite addicted in fact, but having a 200+ ping will do wonders to cure a gaming addiction.
In speaking of fustrating games, If anyone can tell me how to skip a lvl in Tiberian Sun, email me PLEASE.
In the wonderfully violent world of First Person Shooters, I play at a Lan Tournament about every Friday Night at Gleason's Computers, a local computer repair shop. The owner is real cool, and lets me "test" new games and hardware during these tournaments. I call them Tournaments for lack of a better word, there is no prize for first place, other than the privledge of doing a victory dance and other such childish behaivour. Ah well, its still fun.

  • chess (not a specific computer version, in fact, I prefer to play face to face)

  • Thief. the dark project, the game that taught me strategy and the importance that you do NOT have to kill everything in sight to win a game

Games that suck

  • Soldier of fortune. the novelty of locational damage does not compensate for the fact that the plot is boring and a rip-off of any b-rate action movie.
  • StarSeige. there is no reason squad combat should be this confusing and hard.
  • Vampire, the Masqerade. two words, bad interface!
  • Delta Force. for a game that is as recent as this one, I hoped to see graphics that do not rival Wolfenstien 3d.
  • Dare to Dream. its impossible for its targeted age group, as well as anyone else.
